cape coral hospital
The News-Press reports that Cape Coral Hospital is the first community hospital in Florida to receive the Governor’s Sterling Award.

The 291-bed hospital is one of four acute-care health centers operated by the publicly run Lee Memorial Health System. The hospital’s services include a special care unit for newborns, a wellness/fitness center and award-winning stroke care.

Sterling Awards are based on a variety of criteria, including leadership, strategic planning, operations, customer focus and workforce focus.

With approximately 1,200 employees, the hospital has a medical staff of more than 600 physicians and benefits from the generosity of more than 1,000 volunteers. Healthgrades ranked Cape Coral Hospital among the top 10 percent in the nation for overall pulmonary services, which includes the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions of the lungs.
