Be mindful of the FEMA 50/50 rule which states that, Pursuant to 44 C.F.R. § 59.1, a structure is substantially damaged when it has been damaged in excess of a cost that equals or exceeds 50 percent of the market value of the structure.  

Cape Coral’s City Council is expediting the approval of an ordinance that may remove regulations, to make it easier on the homeowner when determining calculations for the 50% rule.
